Founded in 1910 as a producer of sake and shochu, Matsui and its Kurayoshi Distillery are located in Tottori Prefecture, northwest of Kyoto and northeast of Hiroshima on the shore of the Sea of Japan. Matsui has proven itself to be masterful in blending and aging whisky with both its Kurayoshi and Tottori collections, and is now stepping confidently into the world of whisky distillation with it’s single malt collection entitled, ‘The Matsui.’
TASTING NOTES: Ripe and complex in flavor, this malt whisky has aromas of sweet fruit and hues of pale gold and orange. The palate speaks of candied nuts and has a soft mouthfeel and medium-long finish. 46% ABV.

Hibiki 21 Year Old is a premium blended whisky from the Japanese distillery Suntory. The five-sided bottle symbolizes the world’s five most significant whisky-producing countries. The label sits on the “front corner,” celebrating Japanese craftsmanship and an unconventional encounter. A new message for a new era.
This Single Malt distilled at the Kurayoshi Distillery is matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and then transferred to Bourbon barrels that have had the heads swapped out for Sakura Oak for the last few months of maturation. Un-chillfiltered, Natural Color. 14-19 months old.
On the label, the artist Kikukawa Eizan, portrayed Japanese women of strength and grace in his ukiyo-e masterpiece, which we believe was a great fit for the sakura cask which also possesses an underlying strength of flavor and a sweet aroma.

We feel the force and majesty of the waves in this Ukiyo-e artwork reflects the spirit of our peated offering, hence why we chose it for our label. The Yamazaki 12 Years Old Single Malt is comprised of meticulously selected malt whiskies all cask-aged aged for a minimum of 12 years. This special limited-edition bottling was created in honor of Suntory Whisky's centenary. Part of the Yamazaki family, Japan’s quintessential whisky, it is made in Japan’s first and oldest malt distillery which was founded in 1923. Yamazaki means “mountain cape”, referencing its unique geographic location – secluded amongst a range of forest covered mountains. The bottle design pays tribute to Yamazaki, the birthplace of Japanese Whisky, captures this legendary distillery in deep copper tones, and is a reminder to always honor our past.
Boshu - the season for the 'Sowing of the Grain' - the 9th season out of 24 in the Japanese cycle of seasons. How appropriate for this very special whisky made at this tiny new artisan distillery located at the far eastern reaches of the remote northern island of Hokkaido. Distilled from malt that was peated with extremely rare peat sourced locally near the distillery, the spirit was aged in ex-Bourbon, ex-sherry, ex-red wine and mizunara casks prior to bottling at a natural strength of 55% abv.
Located in Japan’s northern most island of Hokkaido and further east than any other distillery in the country, production at Akkeshi Distillery started in 2016. The town of Akkeshi has a cool, moist climate with frequent rolling sea fog that blankets the town coming off the marshes of the Bekan-Beushi wetlands. Fog and marshes like these are indispensable to the production of whisky with similar characteristics to Islay malts.
